Job Description
Merchant Trading PLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant with strong knowledge of accounting principles, Ethiopian tax laws, and financial reporting standards. The role involves managing day-to-day financial activities, preparing reports, and ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting tasks and financial records.
- Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and statements.
- Ensure timely and accurate tax declarations according to Ethiopian tax laws.
- Use accounting software (Peachtree/Sage) for data entry and financial tracking.
- Maintain accurate documentation and organized financial records.
- Support audits and provide required financial documentation.
- Handle accounts payable and receivable activities.
- Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity in all financial processes.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related fields.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws
- Proficiency in Peachtree/Sage
- Strong MS Excel & Word skills
- Excellent communication & reporting abilities
- High accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
