Job Description
The International Labour Organization (ILO) is seeking a qualified Enterprise Advisor (NOA) to support the Better Work Ethiopia Programme in Addis Ababa. The position will provide enterprise advisory services aimed at improving labour standards compliance, workplace cooperation, productivity, and sustainable enterprise development.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct enterprise assessments using Better Work methodologies and tools.
- Provide advisory, coaching, and consultancy support to enterprises.
- Deliver training on labour standards compliance, workplace cooperation, productivity improvement, and occupational safety and health.
- Support enterprises in developing and implementing improvement plans.
- Prepare technical reports, enterprise assessments, and programme documentation.
- Promote responsible business conduct and sustainable workplace practices.
- Support monitoring, documentation, and knowledge management activities.
- Collaborate with programme teams, government stakeholders, enterprises, and partners.
- Provide technical support to improve enterprise performance and workplace conditions.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
Applicants must have an internationally recognized university degree in one of the following fields:
- Human Resource Management
- Occupational Safety and Health (OSH)
- Industrial Engineering
- Manufacturing or Production Engineering
- Business Administration
- International Development
- Economics
- Labour Relations
- Law
- Adult Education
- Organizational Development
- Enterprise Development
- Other related fields
Professional Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in areas including:
- Enterprise development
- Labour standards compliance
- Industrial relations
- Productivity improvement
- Capacity building
- Human resource management
- Occupational safety and health
- Responsible business conduct
- Experience working with manufacturing enterprises is an advantage, especially in:
- Garment
- Textile
- Leather
- Coffee
- Horticulture value chains
- Experience in enterprise advisory services, workplace cooperation, productivity improvement, or labour compliance is highly desirable.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Ethiopian labour laws and regulations.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of enterprise management systems and continuous improvement approaches.
- Knowledge of Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), ESG principles, and labour compliance.
- Ability to prepare high-quality technical reports.
- Strong teamwork and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent command of English.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
