FSL Officer – Save the Children

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and evaluate day-to-day FSL activities in the targeted woreda.
• Work closely with government line ministries, communities, and the FSL Project Coordinator in planning and coordinating project activities.
• Ensure beneficiary selection procedures and criteria are correctly followed.
• Participate in and lead beneficiary selection processes for different project criteria.
• Ensure beneficiaries receive clear information about project activities, plans, distribution dates, and verification requirements.
• Organize community meetings to raise awareness about food security and livelihoods project components.
• Ensure beneficiary and distribution documentation, including beneficiary and master lists, is complete and accurate.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates and reports to the FSL Coordinator.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly plans, monitoring reports, and project reports.
• Collect and respond appropriately to feedback from beneficiaries and target communities.
• Work closely with implementing partners to monitor the quality of activities and provide technical support.
• Promote the integration of child rights programming into project activities.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• BA/BSc degree in Agriculture, Livelihoods, Agronomy, Rural Development, Climate Change, or a related field.

Experience:

• At least 3 years of proven experience in livelihoods, natural resource management (NRM), disaster risk reduction (DRR), food security, or related interventions.
• Experience working with NGOs or similar organizations, particularly in pastoral or rural areas.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of Climate-Smart Agriculture practices.
• Experience in community mobilization, planning, implementation, supervision, monitoring, and reporting.
• Strong report-writing and English-language skills.
• Good advocacy, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Ability to train and mentor staff.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage complex and demanding workloads.
• Knowledge of the local language.
• Willingness to travel and work in rural project locations.
• Ability to work within organizational policies and procedures.
