Job Description
The Grant Finance Specialist will support effective financial management throughout the grant lifecycle, including grant setup, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, compliance, partner financial management, audit support, and grant closure.

The role will ensure donor funds are properly managed, expenditures are monitored, budgets are accurately planned, and financial reports meet both donor and organizational requirements.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, budget realignment and cash-flow management.
- Manage grant setup, master data creation and budget administration using SAP.
- Prepare and analyze financial and budget utilization reports.
- Prepare donor financial submissions and ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide financial guidance and capacity building to Project Managers.
- Monitor expenditures, cash flow, foreign exchange impacts and cost recovery.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations, organizational policies and audit requirements.
- Conduct financial reviews, field monitoring visits, spot checks and risk assessments.
- Coordinate financial reporting and compliance with consortium partners.
- Monitor partner expenditures, advance liquidation and financial reporting.
- Lead grant closure, including reconciliations, outstanding payments and final donor reporting.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Grant Management experience.
- Preferably NGO experience, with at least 3 years at senior level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of SAP and financial policies/procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience managing grants from institutional donors such as:
- EU
- US funding
- ECHO
- UN Agencies
- GFFO
- FCDO
- Other institutional donors
- Excellent financial reporting and communication skills.
- Fluency in English is essential.
