Health Systems Strengthening Officer – Medical Teams International

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, analyze, document, and report nutrition situations and trends within project areas.
• Coordinate technical and logistical support for woreda nutrition interventions.
• Support implementation of CMAM, OTP, TSFP, SC, and IYCF activities.
• Train Health Extension Workers (HEWs) and health professionals on the 2019 National Acute Malnutrition Management Protocol and IYCF.
• Provide technical support to Ministry of Health staff on SAM management and IYCF.
• Supervise nutrition screening, admissions, referrals, treatment, and discharge of malnourished children.
• Ensure proper implementation of Therapeutic Feeding Program (TFP) and Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) services.
• Monitor CMAM program performance and coverage in health facilities and communities.
• Ensure timely delivery of nutrition supplies and proper documentation of beneficiary records.
• Coordinate with woreda health offices, government institutions, and partners on nutrition activities.
• Promote accountability, safeguarding, child protection, and protection from sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA).
• Support reporting, monitoring, and other program activities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• BSc Degree in:
  • Nursing
  • Health Officer
  • Nutrition

Required

• Valid professional license.
• Training of Trainers (TOT) on the 2019 National Acute Malnutrition Management Protocol.

Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience working at a Primary Health Care (PHC) facility.
• At least 1 year managing nutrition services within an NGO.
• Experience with international NGOs is an advantage.

• CMAM, OTP, TSFP, SAM, and IYCF implementation.

• Microsoft Office proficiency.
