Job Description
Elegance General Trading PLC is inviting qualified and capable candidates to apply for the position of Junior Accountant. The successful candidate will support the company's financial operations, maintain accurate accounting records, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, and contribute to financial reporting and analysis.
Elegance General Trading PLC is associated with ELEGAS Ethiopia Trading PLC and operates across several sectors, including Yango Ethiopia customer support and operations, Ethiopian coffee export, event planning and wedding décor, and event furniture importation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage the general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Supervise junior accountants and finance staff.
- Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Prepare and file VAT, withholding tax, and payroll tax reports.
- Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Conduct bank and cash reconciliations.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Maintain proper financial documentation and accounting records.
- Implement and monitor internal control procedures.
- Prepare management financial reports and financial analysis.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a private company.
- Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Peachtree.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in audit preparation.
- Experience in the transport or service sector.
- Female applicants are an advantage.
