Job Description
Mega Lab PLC is seeking a qualified and experienced Microbiologist to perform clinical microbiological testing, analyze laboratory specimens, and ensure accurate and timely reporting of results. The successful candidate will maintain laboratory quality standards, follow established procedures, and comply with biosafety and infection prevention requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, receive, process, and examine clinical specimens using appropriate microbiological methods and procedures.
- Perform microbiological tests, including microscopy, culture, microorganism identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
- Analyze, verify, document, and report laboratory results accurately within the required turnaround time.
- Maintain laboratory quality control, follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), and comply with biosafety, infection prevention, and patient safety standards.
- Promptly communicate critical or clinically significant results to physicians and other relevant healthcare professionals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Master's degree in Microbiology or a related field.
- Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of clinical microbiology and laboratory testing procedures.
- Ability to perform microscopy, culture, microorganism identification, and antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Accurate laboratory documentation and reporting skills.
- Knowledge of laboratory quality control, biosafety, and infection prevention standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
