Key responsibilities

Post-Harvest Technology & Mechanization

• Lead the planning and rollout of post-harvest technologies such as threshers, mills, solar dryers, cold storage systems, hermetic bags, and silos.
• Promote climate-smart food loss reduction solutions tailored to smallholder farmers and agribusinesses.
• Provide technical guidance on agro-processing technologies and energy-efficient mechanization models.

Training, Partnerships & Capacity Building

• Organize training programs for extension agents, farmers, and MSMEs on post-harvest management and mechanization.
• Establish and support farmer-led service centers for mechanization services.
• Strengthen partnerships with government agencies, financial institutions, and technology providers.
• Promote gender and youth participation in agricultural mechanization initiatives.

Innovation & Financial Access

• Design and implement innovative financing schemes with financial institutions to support access to post-harvest technologies.
• Develop business models and ROI-based approaches to promote adoption of sustainable technologies.
• Support community savings models and facilitate market linkages for farmers and agribusinesses.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Conduct monitoring and evaluation activities for project interventions.
• Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories.
• Ensure compliance with project safeguards, donor requirements, and organizational policies.

Qualifications & experience

Education

Master’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Post-Harvest Technology, or a closely related field.

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural outreach, post-harvest management, agribusiness, or agricultural value chain development.

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in small-scale agricultural mechanization and renewable energy applications.
• Understanding of rural finance, credit systems, and agricultural asset financing models.
• Proficiency in MS Office, database systems, and mobile data collection tools.

Core Competencies

• Strong project management, monitoring, and reporting skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel frequently to remote project sites.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
