Job Description
The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa is seeking a Programme Management Officer within the Connectivity and Infrastructure Section of the Technology, Innovation, Connectivity and Infrastructure Development Division.
The position focuses on the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes, operations, and related activities, particularly in infrastructure-related areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programmes and projects.
- Contribute to programme and project management activities.
- Support work related to infrastructure-focused programmes.
- Monitor programme implementation and performance.
- Contribute to planning, administration, and reporting activities.
- Apply data and analytical approaches to support programme management.
Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
- A first-level university degree combined with 2 years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
- Successful completion of degree and non-degree programmes in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration, or related areas.
- At least 2 years of experience developing programmes/projects related to infrastructure, including transport, energy, ICT, or water resources, is required.
- 2+ years of experience in data analytics or related areas is desirable.
Language Requirements
- English: Fluency required
- French: Desirable
- Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
