Project Accountant -The Hunger Project Ethiopia (THP-E)

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate project financial records and accounting documentation.
• Prepare financial reports in compliance with donor and organizational requirements.
• Support grant and donor fund management activities.
• Monitor project expenditures and budget utilization.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
• Present financial information clearly to project teams and non-finance staff.
• Support audits and maintain proper financial documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Accounting and Finance.

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Previous experience in an INGO/NGO environment is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and standards.
• Experience in grant and donor fund management.
• Excellent financial reporting and communication skills.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Commitment to organizational values and mission.

Employment Details

• Contract Duration: One year (with possibility of extension)
• Duty Station: Butajira
