Job Description
Ethiopian Investment Holdings is hiring a Property Management Officer to manage and safeguard the organization's physical assets and inventory. The role includes maintaining fixed asset records, overseeing inventory and store operations, coordinating maintenance, managing asset disposal, and ensuring compliance with government property directives and internal procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date fixed asset register and inventory records.
- Record asset specifications, locations, assigned users, and current status.
- Ensure all enterprise assets are properly coded and tagged.
- Conduct periodic and annual physical inventory counts and reconcile records with the Finance Department.
- Monitor asset movement and maintain complete documentation.
- Supervise the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of materials using authorized procedures.
- Maintain accurate store records, inventory balances, and stock control systems.
- Coordinate maintenance and repair of buildings, facilities, furniture, and equipment.
- Monitor office utilities, cleanliness, and proper utilization of enterprise property.
- Identify obsolete or damaged assets and coordinate disposal in accordance with government regulations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly property management reports.
- Support internal and external audits by maintaining complete asset and inventory documentation.
- Enforce property management procedures and report cases of asset misuse or damage.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Management
- Supplies Management
- Accounting
- Public Administration
- Or a related field
Experience
- Minimum of 6–8 years of relevant experience in property management or store administration within a public enterprise.
- Training in Government Property Administration and Disposal Directives is highly desirable.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Federal Public Property Administration and Disposal Proclamation.
- Experience using asset management software or ERP inventory systems.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles (FIFO/LIFO) and inventory valuation methods.
- Ability to identify technical specifications of machinery, equipment, and office assets.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail.
