Job Description
The Resource and Expenditure Analyst will oversee financial analytics, expenditure monitoring, and reporting across the portfolio of projects managed by the Program Coordination Unit (PCU).The role supports strategic decision-making by consolidating financial data, conducting value-for-money analysis, and preparing financial dashboards and reports for leadership and donors.
Key Responsibilities
Portfolio Financial Analytics & Reporting
- Consolidate and analyze financial data across multiple projects.
- Track budget utilization, commitments, and expenditures.
- Prepare financial dashboards, performance briefs, and analytical reports.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for resource optimization.
Budget Monitoring & Compliance
- Track project expenditures against approved budgets and work plans.
- Ensure compliance with government and donor financial regulations.
- Support quarterly, biannual, and annual financial reviews.
Resource Planning & Forecasting
- Support multi-year resource planning and budgeting processes.
- Conduct scenario-based financial modeling.
- Provide cost-effectiveness and value-for-money analysis.
Capacity Building & Advisory Support
- Train project finance teams on financial reporting and expenditure tracking.
- Provide guidance on financial analysis and resource allocation decisions.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Work with internal teams and stakeholders to improve reporting systems.
- Support leadership and project managers with performance insights.
Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Finance
- Accounting
- Economics
- Development Finance
- Or related field
Experience
- 6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree
- 4 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree
- Experience in financial analytics, expenditure monitoring, or resource management
- Experience with multi-donor projects, government budgeting, or compliance reporting is an advantage
