Software Engineer – Software Design & Development

Key Responsibilities

• Work on real open-source issues across different software codebases.
• Analyze existing codebases and identify implementation gaps.
• Identify missing edge cases and potential architectural issues.
• Develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
• Collaborate with existing codebases and development workflows.
• Apply effective Git workflows and software testing practices.
• Use Docker for development and software delivery where required.
• Leverage AI coding tools and LLM-based development workflows effectively.
• Contribute to software quality, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: 1–3 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong software development fundamentals.
• Proficiency in at least two of the following:
  • Python
  • Java
  • Go
  • TypeScript
  • JavaScript

Technical Skills

• Solid understanding of software testing practices.
• Good knowledge of Git workflows.
• Experience with Docker.
• Ability to identify implementation gaps and edge cases.
• Ability to recognize architectural issues in software systems.
• Prior experience working with AI coding tools or LLM-based workflows.

Compensation & Work Arrangement

• Salary: 100,000–120,000 ETB per month
• Employment: Contractual
• Work Arrangement: Fully Remote
• Location: Anywhere in Ethiopia
