Job Description
Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE) is seeking a WISH2 Project M & E Officer to implement the organization’s monitoring and evaluation systems at the Area Office level. The officer will support project monitoring, research, data analysis, evaluation, reporting, and documentation of lessons learned, with a focus on family planning and reproductive health programs.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement project monitoring and evaluation frameworks in coordination with program coordinators.
- Conduct and organize research, baseline surveys, and evaluations related to family planning and reproductive health.
- Develop data collection instruments and appropriate survey methodologies, including sampling and quality control procedures.
- Monitor project progress and recommend appropriate interventions and improvements.
- Collect, compile, and analyze program implementation, budget utilization, service statistics, and other project data.
- Enter, analyze, and produce outputs from baseline and research data.
- Conduct periodic project performance evaluations and reviews.
- Prepare statistical abstracts, reports, and documentation of project progress and best practices.
- Support research methodology, surveys, project evaluations, and report preparation.
- Provide information on organizational activities as required.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements
- BSc/BA in Statistics, Public Health, or Economics.
- 5 years of relevant experience.
- Experience with MOH structures, strategic documents, health service delivery, and quality improvement systems.
- Experience in quality-of-care implementation, clinical auditing, quality planning, and interventions.
- Experience managing projects, report writing, service data analysis, preferably in the NGO sector or donor-funded projects.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in SPSS, SAS, Epi Info, and MS Word, Excel, and Access.
- Strong research, documentation, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of SRH/family planning programs and services is an advantage.
- Fluent English is required; Amharic is an asset.
- Ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams and travel to project sites when required.

North West Area Office – Bahir Dar, with project-site travel as required
