Job Description
Buusaa Gonofaa Microfinance S.C is hiring a **Branch Manager I** to oversee branch operations, lending, savings, customer service, security, and staff supervision. The role involves providing leadership, training, and ensuring effective implementation of BG’s policies and operational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily branch operations including loan disbursements, repayments, and savings transactions.
- Ensure delivery of transparent, client-focused, and timely financial services.
- Monitor loan portfolio performance and support actions to maintain acceptable PAR levels.
- Promote savings mobilization and proper account management.
- Implement standardized procedures for client onboarding, loan processing, and record keeping.
- Ensure compliance with NBE directives, AML/KYC requirements, and internal controls.
- Supervise branch staff and support performance management and capacity building.
- Manage branch cash, assets, and facilities to ensure operational security.
- Prepare and submit routine branch operational and financial reports.
- Support community outreach, client education, and adoption of institutional products and services.
- Perform other duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- MA/BA Degree in:
- Business Administration
- Management
- Accounting
- Economics
- Cooperatives
- Related fields
Experience
- 4–6 years of relevant work experience.
- Professional experience in microfinance or banking operations is preferred.
- Experience in branch management, portfolio management, client services, and compliance is an advantage.
- Experience working with operational reports and financial service management.
- Willingness to work in rural areas.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge of microfinance operations and branch procedures.
- Credit and savings management skills.
- Understanding of AML/KYC and regulatory compliance.
- Customer service and financial literacy skills.
- Basic computer skills.
