Category Manager – Commerce | HEINEKEN Ethiopia

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Category Management

• Define and implement category strategies for commercial procurement.
• Lead and develop the category team and buyers.
• Monitor supplier and category performance.
• Collaborate with business functions and global procurement teams.
• Develop sourcing plans to secure quality supplies at competitive costs.
• Select compliant suppliers and assess supplier risks.
• Drive savings through tenders, negotiations, and specification optimization.

Sourcing & Contracting

• Ensure compliant Source-to-Contract processes using procurement tools such as Zycus.
• Develop and manage legal contracts in cooperation with Legal Affairs.
• Ensure proper contract administration, archiving, and timely renewal.
• Support supplier audits in line with HEINEKEN policies.
• Work with Finance on budgets, funding, and payment schemes.

Supplier & Performance Management

• Develop supplier relationship plans based on business and procurement priorities.
• Establish performance requirements within supplier agreements.
• Monitor and report supplier performance.
• Identify supply risks and develop alternative sourcing solutions.
• Support resolution of supplier claims and escalations.
• Identify opportunities for local supplier development.

Purchase-to-Pay

• Manage and continuously improve compliant Purchase-to-Pay processes.
• Work with Finance to allocate foreign exchange and local funds according to business priorities.

Qualifications & Requirements

🎓 Education

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or an equivalent field.

💼 Experience

• 5–8 years of experience in the supply side of procurement.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
