Cost and Budget Lead – Shayashone Trading PLC

Key Responsibilities

• Lead preparation, consolidation, and monitoring of annual, departmental, and periodic budgets.
• Coordinate with departments to develop realistic budget plans and forecasts.
• Monitor budget utilization and provide regular performance updates to management.
• Develop and implement cost-control strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.
• Analyze product costs, factory overheads, logistics, procurement, administrative, and operational expenses.
• Identify cost drivers, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost reduction.
• Prepare monthly cost performance reports, budget-versus-actual analysis, and variance explanations.
• Develop cost-related KPIs, dashboards, and management reports.
• Investigate significant budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Support financial forecasting, scenario analysis, and long-term financial planning.
• Develop financial models to support business expansion, investment, and operational decisions.
• Monitor production costs, labor costs, overheads, cost per unit, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with Production, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations teams to improve cost effectiveness.
• Ensure accurate cost and budget information is maintained within ERP and financial systems.
• Support ERP budgeting, costing, reporting, and financial analysis processes.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, approval processes, and internal controls.
• Support internal and external audit activities related to cost and budget management.
• Promote accountability and a cost-conscious culture across the organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Management Accounting, or a related field.
• ACCA, CMA, CIMA, or equivalent professional certification is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, management accounting, or financial planning.
• Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience in trading, manufacturing, and agribusiness is preferred.

Required Expertise

• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Product costing, overhead allocation, cost variance, and profitability analysis.
• Financial and operational data analysis.
• Management reporting, dashboards, and performance analysis.
• ERP systems for budgeting, costing, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Business performance management and KPI analysis.
• Cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
