Job Description

The Ethiopian Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ESOG) is seeking a competent, organized, and results-oriented professional for the position of CPD Officer. The Officer will support the management and growth of ESOG’s continuing professional development (CPD), CME, training, and certification services under the Executive Director.

Job Purpose

The CPD Officer will be responsible for coordinating the planning, administration, delivery, documentation, and quality assurance of ESOG’s CPD, CME, training, and certification activities. The position will ensure efficient program delivery, good participant service, accurate records, and contribution to ESOG’s professional development and income-generation goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. CPD Program Coordination

  • Coordinate the annual and periodic CPD/CME and training calendar.
  • Support timely implementation of approved training activities.
  • Coordinate participant registration, trainer arrangements, materials, venues, and training logistics.
  • Support the development and updating of course outlines, training materials, schedules, and participant information.

2. Participant and Certification Management

  • Maintain accurate participant registration, attendance, evaluation, completion, and certification records.
  • Coordinate certificate preparation and issuance in accordance with ESOG requirements.
  • Respond to participant inquiries and provide timely follow-up before, during, and after training activities.

3. Quality Assurance and Documentation

  • Ensure training activities follow ESOG quality standards and approved procedures.
  • Collect participant feedback and support post-training evaluations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of CPD and training activities.
  • Maintain organized databases and documentation covering courses, participants, trainers, certificates, and outputs.

4. Revenue and Administrative Support

  • Support costing, registration fee collection, invoicing, and revenue tracking in coordination with Finance.
  • Monitor implementation against approved plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Report implementation issues promptly.
  • Support preparation of periodic activity and performance reports.

5. Coordination and Partnerships

  • Coordinate with ESOG departments, trainers, professional institutions, partners, and clients.
  • Support communication and marketing of CPD opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand the participant and client base.

6. Other Responsibilities

  • Support the review and improvement of CPD systems, workflows, products, and service delivery.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the Director, General Capacity Building Department.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Health Sciences, Public Health, Education, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in CPD, training coordination, health program management, professional education, administration, or a related area.
  • Experience coordinating training, workshops, professional education, or certification activities is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with health professionals, professional associations, universities, health institutions, or development partners is an advantage.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records and databases.
  • Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and digital registration/record-management systems.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
