General Accounting Division Director- Mega Store PLC

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, month-end and year-end closing processes, and financial statement preparation.
• Lead import and landed-cost accounting, including LC settlement, foreign exchange, and customs cost allocation.
• Ensure full compliance with tax obligations, including VAT, withholding tax, and profit tax.
• Coordinate and manage external audit processes.
• Develop, implement, and enforce accounting policies and internal control procedures.
• Maintain high standards for financial documentation and accounting records.
• Lead, coach, supervise, and appraise the accounting team against BSC and OKR targets.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to management.
• Identify accounting risks and implement appropriate corrective measures.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:
Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong experience in general accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and team leadership.
• Experience with import and landed-cost accounting is highly relevant.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Excellent understanding of Ethiopian tax requirements.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.
• Experience with import accounting, LC settlement, forex, and customs cost allocation.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team management skills.
• Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy.
• Ability to manage deadlines and work effectively at a senior level.
