The factory and main office are located in Bishoftu (Debre-Zeit).

Job Summary

Crown Packaging and Plastics PLC is looking for a Mechanical Support Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshoot machinery and equipment, assist with maintenance and repairs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electromechanical problems in machinery and equipment.
• Perform repairs and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Assist in the design and modification of mechanical systems and components.
• Prepare and work with technical drawings, specifications, and machine parts.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment problems.
• Assist with routine maintenance and inspection of machinery and equipment.
• Provide technical support to other team members and departments.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
• Assist in updating technical manuals and operational procedures.
• Participate in cross-functional improvement and engineering projects.
• Collaborate closely with technical and production teams to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.

Experience:

• 0–4 years of experience in a similar role.

Technical Skills:

• Knowledge of mechanical drawings and industrial components.
• Knowledge of workshop tools and mechanical machine elements.
• Proficiency in MS Office and job-related software.
• Familiarity with communication applications.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
• Experience with welding and lathe machine techniques is an advantage.

Other Requirements:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good English-language proficiency.
• Flexible working hours and availability for emergency calls.
• Willingness to live and work in Bishoftu.
