Job Description

The Protection Assistant – GBV Case Worker will implement gender-based violence (GBV) case management services. The role focuses on providing confidential, survivor-centered case management support to GBV survivors and crisis-affected individuals while working closely with protection, legal, and community-based teams

Key Responsibilities

Case Management & Service Delivery

  • Provide confidential GBV case management services in line with DRC SOPs and minimum standards.
  • Develop action plans with survivors and conduct appropriate follow-ups and case closure.
  • Conduct referrals to relevant services and ensure proper coordination.
  • Provide counseling and emotional support sessions.
  • Facilitate group support sessions for women and girls at risk.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold survivor-centered approaches.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Enter and update case data in GBVIMS and DRC case management systems.
  • Maintain accurate case files and trackers.
  • Participate in supervision sessions and case conferences.
  • Report gaps in GBV response services to supervisors.

Community Engagement & Capacity Building

  • Support delivery of GBV awareness and training sessions for community structures.
  • Engage communities to assess needs and service gaps.
  • Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of GBV interventions.

Job Requirements

Education

University degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Law, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year experience in protection work (preferably with international NGOs).
  • Experience in GBV case management is desirable.
  • Emergency field experience is highly preferred.
