Job Description

Marie Stopes International Ethiopia (MSIE) is seeking a professional and organized Receptionist Cashier to support client reception, cash collection, appointment management, records administration, communication, and petty cash management at its MSIE Centre.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and assist clients and visitors and provide appropriate information.
  • Respond to enquiries and arrange client appointments.
  • Collect clinic income using MSIE-approved legal receipts.
  • Maintain appropriate security and safe custody of cash and financial documents.
  • Prepare, tabulate, and submit monthly client statistical data and income statements.
  • Maintain client cards and records in accordance with established records-control and filing procedures.
  • Ensure client records are accurate, up-to-date, orderly, properly filed, and readily retrievable.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including telephone calls and messages.
  • Manage the clinic petty cash fund in accordance with organizational financial policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of petty cash transactions and supporting documents.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • BA or Diploma in Accounting, or
  • BA or Diploma in Secretarial Science and Office Management.

Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in reception, cashiering, or a related position.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Good proficiency in the local language and spoken English.
  • Professional, presentable, and enthusiastic personality.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Good telephone and communication skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to handle cash and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Knowledge of Family Planning and Reproductive Health is an advantage.
  • Pro-choice orientation.
