Job Description
HAF General Trading PLC is looking for a Senior Accountant to oversee financial reporting, accounting compliance and tax-related activities. The position will be responsible for maintaining financial statements in accordance with IFRS and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
The role also involves managing petroleum-sector accounting activities, including fuel inventory costing, volumetric reconciliation and revenue recognition, as well as ensuring compliance with Ethiopian tax requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the transition and ongoing maintenance of financial statements in full compliance with IFRS requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including:
- Statement of financial position
- Statement of comprehensive income
- Cash flow statement
- Ensure strict adherence to applicable accounting standards.
- Manage fuel inventory costing and volumetric reconciliation.
- Manage revenue recognition processes specific to the petroleum sector.
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of VAT, Withholding Tax and Corporate Income Tax.
- Maintain compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
