Job Summary

Plan International Ethiopia is seeking a qualified and experienced SRH Officer to provide overall woreda-level coordination for the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the SRH Alliance Project.

The officer will coordinate the implementation of the Alliance program involving Plan International Ethiopia, Amref Ethiopia, and local implementing partners. The role will contribute to improving the availability, accessibility, acceptability, and quality of sexual and reproductive health services, information, and education.

The position will also support community engagement, policy advocacy, research, capacity strengthening, and positive social norm change, with particular attention to conflict-affected and hard-to-reach areas.

The successful candidate will ensure that gender equality, disability inclusion, climate and conflict sensitivity, safeguarding, and survivor-centred approaches are incorporated into project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the timely and quality implementation of SRH Alliance project activities.
• Support the delivery of quality sexual and reproductive health services, information, education, policy advocacy, research, and capacity-building activities.
• Contribute to annual, quarterly, and detailed implementation planning with project teams, Alliance members, and partners.
• Provide technical guidance, coordination, and capacity building to implementing partners, government stakeholders, Alliance members, and project staff.
• Facilitate partnerships with government institutions, community groups, youth- and women-led organizations, and other relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress and support data collection, reporting, and compliance with organizational and donor requirements.
• Document lessons learned, best practices, and evidence to improve programming.
• Strengthen partnerships with academic and research institutions to promote evidence-based programming and advocacy.
• Promote gender equality, youth participation, disability inclusion, safeguarding, climate sensitivity, and community engagement.
• Represent the project in coordination forums, technical working groups, and stakeholder platforms.
• Support community-based approaches that improve access to quality SRH services and information.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Understand and implement Plan International’s safeguarding and Gender Equality and Inclusion policies.
• Promote a safe and inclusive working environment.
• Ensure that safeguarding and GEI principles are integrated into day-to-day project implementation.
• Report and manage safeguarding concerns according to established procedures.
• Support Plan International’s commitment to protecting children, young people, and program participants.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Public Health
• Reproductive Health
• Nursing
• Sociology
• A related social science field

Professional Experience

• 3–5 years of relevant professional experience in woreda, zonal, or regional project coordination or management.
• Experience working with alliance, consortium, or multi-partner programs.
• Strong sectoral expertise in sexual and reproductive health and related areas.
• Experience working with complex projects involving diverse local implementing partners.
• Good understanding of regional and local contexts.
• Knowledge of SRH strategies and policy frameworks.
• Knowledge of teenage pregnancy reduction initiatives, child marriage, FGM/C, and SGBV.
• Experience in project planning, budget management, and training delivery.
