Job Description
Médecins Sans Frontières – Belgium (MSF-Belgium) is looking for a Storekeeper – Coordination to manage warehouse and stock activities including receiving, storing, and issuing supplies. The role ensures materials such as medical supplies, tools, spare parts, and equipment are properly managed according to MSF standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse & Stock Management
- Receive and inspect deliveries and report discrepancies against cargo manifests.
- Store materials properly to ensure availability and protection.
- Maintain stock cards and update records immediately after receiving goods.
- Organize warehouse areas including reception, dispatch, cold chain, and storage zones.
- Monitor warehouse conditions including temperature and humidity.
Inventory Control
- Conduct regular physical stock counts.
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and alarm thresholds.
- Ensure sensitive goods are handled according to storage requirements.
- Prepare and update inventory reports with stock performance indicators.
Dispatch & Documentation
- Prepare goods for dispatch including packing, labeling, and weighing shipments.
- Assign shipping numbers and prepare waybills.
- Ensure delivery notes are signed and properly archived.
- Maintain accurate records of all goods movements in and out of the warehouse.
Warehouse Safety & Security
- Control warehouse access to authorized personnel only.
- Ensure warehouse cleanliness and security.
- Report damages, losses, theft, or attempted break-ins immediately.
Support Activities
- Assist line manager with stock reports and inventory updates.
- Supervise daily workers assisting in warehouse activities when required.
- Prepare payment requests for temporary warehouse workers.
Job Requirements
Education
Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Materials Management, Warehousing, or related field.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience working in a medical warehouse.
- Previous experience as a storekeeper is desirable.
Language
- Fluent English required.
- Knowledge of additional local languages is an asset.
Knowledge & Technical Skills
- Basic mathematics and use of measuring equipment
- Knowledge of storage conditions for medical and non-medical goods
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft 365) desirable
- Basic repair and maintenance ability is an advantage
