Job Description
The Telecom Engineer will be responsible for technical implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the company’s network infrastructure and client installations. The role requires hands-on expertise in telecom systems, network configuration, and fault resolution to ensure high network availability.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Deployment
Plan, install, and configure Fiber Optics, Microwave links, Routers, Switches, and Firewalls.
Site Surveys
Conduct physical site surveys to assess connectivity solutions and hardware requirements.
Maintenance
Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure 99.9% network uptime.
Troubleshooting
Diagnose and resolve technical faults (Layer 1–Layer 3) within agreed SLAs.
Configuration & Security
- Configure LAN/WAN networks and VPNs.
- Implement and maintain network security protocols.
Documentation
Maintain accurate records of network designs, IP addressing schemes, and maintenance logs.
Job Requirements
Education
BSc in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of practical experience in the telecom or ISP sector.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and Fiber Splicing.
- Experience with Cisco, Huawei, or MikroTik devices.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, HCIA, or similar are strongly preferred.
- Good communication skills.
Attributes
- Willingness to work flexible hours for emergency maintenance.
- Ability to climb ladders or towers when required.
