Job Description
World Vision International is recruiting a Driver Mechanic for its Gambella operation.The Driver Mechanic will provide safe and reliable transportation services while performing routine vehicle maintenance and minor mechanical repairs on cars, buses, trucks, and related equipment.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities
- Operate organization vehicles safely and provide reliable transportation
- Follow vehicle safety procedures and respond to service calls
- Perform routine preventive maintenance
- Change tires, oil, and filters
- Grease vehicle parts and replace bulbs
- Check and top up vehicle fluids
- Inspect vehicles and report mechanical problems
- Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas in clean and good condition
- Keep vehicles fueled and ready for operation
- Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and fuel-consumption records
- Safeguard vehicle keys, tools, spare tires/rims, and safety equipment
- Monitor vehicle performance and submit maintenance requests when necessary
- Follow up on maintenance and repair work
- Maintain preventive-maintenance records in accordance with fleet-management policies
- Prepare and submit monthly vehicle-usage reports
🎓 Requirements
Education / License:
- Grade 10/12 or 10+2
- TVET Diploma
- Valid 3rd Grade Driving License or equivalent requirement stated by the employer
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
🔧 Preferred Knowledge & Skills
- Valid third-grade driving license
- Vehicle routine maintenance
- Minor mechanical repair skills
- Ability to perform assigned tasks with limited supervision
- Good vehicle inspection and troubleshooting ability
🗣️ Language
- Proficiency in Amharic
- Proficiency in English
- Both speaking and writing skills are required
