Job Description
The role involves assisting with financial record management, transaction processing, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting senior finance staff in delivering timely and reliable financial reports.
Key Responsibilities
General Ledger Maintenance
- Record daily financial transactions accurately.
- Post journal entries and assist in monthly account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process vendor invoices and support timely payments.
- Generate client invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Support commission payments to internal and external sales agents.
- Assist in payroll preparation.
- Reconcile vendor and customer statements.
Financial Reporting Support
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support preparation of financial statements.
- Prepare documentation for audits.
Expense Tracking & Reporting
- Track and document company expenses accurately.
- Reconcile bank transactions and employee expense reports.
- Provide data for budgeting and forecasting activities.
Compliance & Tax Support
- Assist in preparing VAT, Withholding, Pension, and employee tax filings.
- Maintain tax records and support tax audits.
- Ensure regulatory compliance in financial documentation.
Inventory & Asset Management
- Support tracking of inventory and fixed assets.
- Assist in periodic counts and depreciation schedules.
Administrative & Team Support
- Maintain organized financial records.
- Support senior accountants in financial analysis and projects.
- Provide general administrative assistance within the finance department.
Job Requirements
Educational Qualifications
- MA/BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Associate degree may be considered with relevant experience.
Professional Experience
Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in entry-level accounting or bookkeeping roles.
Required Skills & Competencies
Core Professional Skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational ability.
