Job Description

The Business Control Coordinator – Grants oversees the grant application and reporting process, budget controls, and overall business control related to grants. The role ensures compliance with donor requirements and SNV policies, manages sub-grants and partners, and supports program teams with budget and grant proposals.

Key Responsibilities

Grants, Contracts, Budget Management, Business Control:

  • Manage all donor contracts in the Country Office.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and proper use of funds.
  • Coordinate budget development with program teams applying Full Cost Recovery principles.
  • Communicate with donors and ensure timely reporting.
  • Set up project numbers and Project Administration Memos (PAM) in the system.

Sub-Grants, Partners, and Consultants:

  • Lead management of sub-grants, partners, and consultants to ensure contractual and donor compliance.
  • Conduct due diligence and review contracts before signing.
  • Build capacity of partners on donor requirements and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate timely disbursement of advances and verify expenditure reports.

Employee and Talent Management:

  • Supervise and develop reporting staff (if applicable).
  • Implement Annual Performance and Accountability Plans (APAAs).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Applied Economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in finance, corporate reporting, project management, and grant monitoring.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably SAP Business ByDesign) and donor contracts (USG preferred).
  • Strong IT and advanced Excel skills.
