Job Description

The Business Control Specialist – Grants manages the grant application and reporting process, ensures compliance with donor requirements, oversees budget control, and supports overall business control in the Country Office.

Key Responsibilities

Grants, Contracts, Budget Management, and Business Control:

  • Manage all donor contracts in the Country Office.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and monitor expenditures.
  • Coordinate proposal budget development and apply Full Cost Recovery principles.
  • Maintain quality and timeliness in grant development and reporting.

Sub-Grants, Partners, Consultants, and Subcontractors:

  • Lead management of sub-grants, partners, and consultants to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct due diligence and review contracts before signing.
  • Build capacity of partners on donor requirements and reporting.
  • Coordinate disbursement of advances and verify expenditure reports.

Employee and Talent Management:

  • Supervise and develop reporting staff (if applicable).
  • Implement Annual Performance and Accountability Plans (APAAs).

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Applied Economics, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in finance, corporate reporting, project management, and grant monitoring.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP Business ByDesign preferred) and donor contracts (USG preferred).
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills; experience with financial software is a plus.
