Cyber Security Data Protection Officer – Safaricom Ethiopia

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting data protection and cybersecurity risk management, conducting assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating technical security matters to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of cybersecurity experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience focused on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC).
• In-depth knowledge of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, standards, and best practices.
• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework and ISO 27001.
• Experience with data protection technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct data protection and cybersecurity risk assessments.
• Identify security and data protection risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Support implementation of cybersecurity and data protection controls.
• Evaluate complex systems and processes from a security and risk perspective.
• Communicate technical cybersecurity information clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
