Economic Recovery Project Manager – Maternity cover

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Strategy

• Lead and provide technical direction for Economic Recovery projects.
• Ensure timely and quality implementation of project activities in line with donor requirements.
• Manage project cycle activities, including planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
• Contribute to proposal development, concept notes, and strategic planning.

Team Leadership & Capacity Building

• Supervise Economic Recovery staff across Afar and Tigray.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management support.
• Organize technical and project management training for team members.

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

• Coordinate with MEAL teams to ensure effective monitoring and accountability.
• Produce quality weekly, monthly, and donor reports.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.

Stakeholder Coordination & Representation

• Build strong relationships with local partners, government offices, and communities.
• Represent DRC in livelihoods and economic recovery coordination forums.
• Coordinate closely with INGOs, government institutions, and internal departments.

Budget & Operations Management

• Oversee project budgets and expenditure tracking.
• Prepare monthly budget forecasts and monitor resource utilization.
• Support operational functions including logistics, procurement, administration, and finance.

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Agronomy, Agribusiness, International Development, Business Management, Marketing, Livelihoods, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience in livelihoods, economic recovery, food security, or cash assistance programs.
• Experience in agriculture, livestock, value chain development, market analysis, and humanitarian operations.
• Strong knowledge of cash-based interventions and market systems programming.
• Experience working in emergency, resilience, and displacement settings is advantageous.
