Job Description

The Finance and Administration Officer will ensure effective financial management, accountability, and compliance with Ethiopian laws and internal policies of HRF Business Wing.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation and authorization of financial transactions.
  • Maintain financial records and filing systems.

Tax & Compliance

  • Declare VAT and other tax-related reports to relevant authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws and internal financial policies.

Payroll & Cash Management

  • Manage payroll preparation and statutory deductions.
  • Maintain petty cash and daily cash book records.
  • Reconcile physical cash balances with financial records.

Banking & Payments

  • Prepare payment vouchers, deposit vouchers, and cheques.
  • Coordinate bank deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations.

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Assist in stock and asset management.
  • Maintain updated inventory records and monitor supply usage.

Operational Support

  • Provide financial and logistical support for business operations and outreach programs.
  • Liaise with staff, government partners, and community leaders.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in finance, preferably in private sector or business enterprises.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, withholding tax, payroll taxes).
  • Good understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • High integrity and professional ethics.
