Job Description

The Finance Manager will provide strategic leadership for the company’s financial operations, ensuring robust financial systems, accurate reporting, regulatory compliance, and sound fiscal decision-making. This role requires an experienced professional who can balance day-to-day accounting operations with long-term financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Strategy

  • Develop and implement company-wide financial policies and procedures.
  • Provide strategic advice to executive management on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead budget planning, monitoring, and periodic reforecasting to support organizational objectives.

Accounting & Reporting

  • Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and taxation.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements compliant with IFRS.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure operational liquidity.
  • Generate financial dashboards and key performance metrics for decision-making.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, ERCA regulations, and financial reporting standards.
  • Liaise with external auditors, regulators, and financial institutions.
  • Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate finance team members.
  • Identify skill gaps and recommend training programs for finance staff.

Systems & Technology

  • Implement and optimize accounting software (Peachtree, QuickBooks, ERP systems).
  • Automate reporting and approval workflows for efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years in a managerial role within finance or accounting.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
