Job Description
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the organization’s financial records, ensuring proper documentation of financial transactions, and preparing accurate financial reports. The role supports budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring of project expenditures.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Manage payments, cash flow monitoring, and bank reconciliations.
- Support preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
- Ensure compliance with donor and organizational financial policies.
- Assist in financial planning and budget forecasting.
- Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
- Support internal and external financial audits.
- Monitor project expenditures and ensure proper use of funds.
- Coordinate with program teams regarding financial matters.
Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Business Administration
- Or related field
Work Experience
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Experience working with NGOs or development organizations is preferred.
- Experience in budget management and donor-funded projects is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial management systems.
- Experience in financial reporting and budget monitoring.
- Good analytical and financial problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
