Job Description
The Finance Officer will be responsible for managing the daily financial operations of the Investment Bank. The role includes monitoring brokerage transactions through execution and settlement, maintaining strong controls over client and proprietary funds, performing reconciliations, and supporting accounting and financial reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities
Brokerage Financial Tracking & Trade Settlement
- Monitor the complete lifecycle of buy and sell transactions executed by the brokerage department.
- Ensure accurate and timely trade capture and reconciliation.
- Investigate and resolve trade failures, position mismatches, and settlement discrepancies.
Money Movement & Financial Controls
- Monitor incoming and outgoing funds, including client deposits, withdrawals, wire transfers, and internal transfers.
- Perform daily bank and custodian reconciliations.
- Track daily cash positions and ensure sufficient liquidity for settlements and operations.
- Implement internal controls to prevent unauthorized transactions, fraud, and misuse of client funds.
- Ensure strict segregation of client funds from proprietary and operational accounts.
- Ensure client funds are maintained in designated accounts without commingling.
Operational Finance & Accounting
- Process supplier and vendor invoices and maintain vendor records.
- Support monthly payroll, tax withholding, pension deductions, and employee reimbursements.
- Maintain accounting records and prepare journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS or applicable local accounting frameworks.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual budgeting and variance analysis.
- Assist with management financial reporting.
- Support preparation and submission of required financial reports to ECMA and ESX.
- Maintain financial records in accordance with applicable legal and ESX requirements.
- Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- More than 2 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or operations.
- Experience in a financial services firm is highly desirable.
- Experience in trade settlement, reconciliation, and client fund segregation is an advantage.
- Capital market certification such as CISI, ESX Academy, or ECMA training is strongly preferred.
