Job Description
Women Empowerment-Action (WE-Action) is seeking a qualified GBV Case Management Officer to support the delivery of quality health, psychosocial, and case management services for survivors of gender-based violence.
Key Responsibilities
GBV Case Management & Program Implementation
- Provide direct support and care to adult GBV survivors and age-appropriate specialized support to adolescent and girl-child survivors.
- Provide counselling, psychosocial support, and case management services.
- Ensure respect, confidentiality, safety, security, and non-discrimination in all GBV services.
- Properly document GBV cases using GBV IMS intake, action, follow-up, and case management forms.
- Ensure case documentation and referral records are accurate, updated, organized, and securely maintained.
- Strengthen referral networks with relevant stakeholders to ensure survivors have timely access to confidential and safe services.
- Ensure survivor-centered care by respecting survivors' wishes and decisions.
- Develop and support age-appropriate emotional and social support activities for women and girls.
- Develop and share monthly GBV response plans and key messages based on case trends and available services.
Training & Capacity Building
- Facilitate GBV training for community actors, including psychosocial first aid volunteers, community health volunteers, women's groups, and formal and informal community structures.
- Support capacity building on GBV concepts, referral pathways, guiding principles, and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse.
- Support training for referral pathway actors on GBV referral protocols and clinical care of sexual assault survivors.
- Mentor and support social workers and local partners in GBV response activities.
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports while ensuring protection of survivor confidentiality.
- Track key program indicators using M&E tools and reporting systems.
- Collect and analyze relevant monitoring data from target groups.
- Participate in monitoring visits, supportive supervision, assessments, and evaluations.
- Document lessons learned, best practices, case studies, and program learning.
- Work closely with M&E personnel and use approved tools and templates.
- Support project mid-term and end-term evaluations.
- Compile quality monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Provide timely data and reports for internal and external requirements.
Coordination & Program Support
- Participate in procurement, spending, and work-plan development.
- Ensure program supplies and resources are available on time.
- Monitor appropriate utilization of program supplies and resources.
- Participate in government and donor/partner program visits.
- Maintain effective relationships with government offices, service providers, community structures, and partners.
- Support local partners throughout implementation, reporting, mentoring, monitoring, and evaluation.
Safeguarding, Accountability & Compliance
- Follow donor, government, and organizational policies and compliance requirements.
- Promote gender equality, social inclusion, accountability, and safeguarding.
- Conduct routine safeguarding risk assessments and report concerns appropriately.
- Raise awareness among communities and staff on safeguarding and complaints/feedback mechanisms.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are documented and handled confidentially.
- Support implementation of the Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS).
- Ensure participant feedback and complaints are securely documented and reported.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
- MA/MSc/BA/BSc in a social work-related field, such as:
- Social Work
- Sociology
- Psychology
- Gender Studies
- Related fields
Experience:
- BA/BSc: Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.
- MA/MSc: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Previous experience as a GBV Case Officer with an NGO is preferred.
