Job Description

DRC is seeking a qualified Human Resource Officer to support HR operations at the Country Office and field level. The role involves handling HR administration, payroll, onboarding, contract management, and maintaining HR systems in line with DRC policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Onboarding & HR Administration

  • Organize and deliver staff orientation programs
  • Ensure proper onboarding and probation follow-up
  • Support HR processes across field offices

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Maintain and update employee records in DRC Dynamics (ERP)
  • Manage HR data including leave, contracts, and employee status changes
  • Ensure all HR checklists and records are properly completed

Payroll & Benefits

  • Process payroll accurately and on time
  • Manage staff benefits, insurance, and pension registration
  • Ensure proper deductions and compliance with policies
  • Prepare monthly HR and payroll reports

Contract Management

  • Ensure timely contract renewals and updates
  • Draft employment-related documents (extensions, promotions, transfers)

Recruitment & Employee Development

  • Support recruitment processes and onboarding
  • Assist in performance management and staff development initiatives
  • Promote employee well-being and engagement activities

General HR Support

  • Maintain proper HR filing systems
  • Support travel and administrative arrangements when needed
  • Participate in HR initiatives and reporting activities

Job Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or BA in Human Resource Management or related field

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant HR experience
  • INGO experience is an advantage

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of compensation and benefits management
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with HR systems or ERP tools
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Fluency in English and Amharic
