Job Description

Job SummaryEHRC is seeking a qualified Human Rights Officer, Monitoring and Investigation to conduct human rights monitoring, investigations, and reporting activities. The successful candidate will contribute to promoting accountability, protecting human rights, and strengthening compliance with national and international human rights standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct human rights monitoring and investigation activities.
  • Collect, verify, and analyze information related to alleged human rights violations.
  • Prepare investigation reports, findings, and recommendations.
  • Support human rights advocacy, awareness, and monitoring initiatives.
  • Engage with stakeholders and relevant institutions to strengthen human rights protection.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and case records.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • MA/LLM in Human Rights Law, International Law, Law, or a related field, or
  • BA/LLB in Law.

Experience:

  • MA/LLM: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • BA/LLB: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

  • Computer literacy
  • Proficiency in Amharic
  • Knowledge of other Ethiopian local languages is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, investigation, and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Salary & Benefits

  • Monthly Salary: ETB 27,129 – 31,405
  • House Allowance: ETB 12,100
  • Transport Allowance: ETB 4,000
