Job Description
The Import Procurement Officer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing procurement activities related to imported goods. The role ensures the timely purchase and delivery of materials required for the company’s operations while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with procurement procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate international suppliers and vendors.
- Prepare purchase orders and import procurement documents.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supplier agreements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders and customs clearance agents.
- Track shipments and ensure timely delivery of imported goods.
- Maintain procurement records and supplier databases.
- Monitor procurement budgets and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related field.
Experience
Minimum 2 years relevant work experience in procurement or supply chain management.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Knowledge of procurement procedures and import processes
- Computer proficiency (Excel, Word, Email)
- Organizational and problem-solving skills
