IOM Ethiopia – National Project Officer (Reintegration and Economic Inclusion)

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is a related organization of the United Nations working with governments, international organizations, NGOs, communities, and other partners to promote humane and orderly migration.

IOM Ethiopia is seeking a National Project Officer (Reintegration and Economic Inclusion) to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of community-based reintegration (CBR) interventions and Enterprise Development Fund (EDF) activities.

The position will work closely with government counterparts, implementing partners, private-sector organizations, communities, and other stakeholders to support livelihoods, enterprise development, social cohesion, and sustainable reintegration.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the coordination, implementation, and monitoring of community-based reintegration activities.
• Assist with community assessments, market analyses, value-chain assessments, and stakeholder consultations.
• Support livelihoods, community infrastructure, social cohesion, and service-delivery initiatives.
• Support the implementation of the Enterprise Development Fund, including outreach, selection, documentation, due diligence, and monitoring.
• Engage with SMEs, financial institutions, chambers of commerce, business associations, and entrepreneurship-support organizations.
• Contribute to EDF operational plans, grant documentation, monitoring tools, and accountability mechanisms.
• Coordinate with field teams, implementing partners, and service providers.
• Work with federal, regional, and local government authorities and community structures.
• Monitor implementing partners against workplans, IOM standards, donor requirements, and protection principles.
• Support capacity-building activities for government counterparts, private-sector actors, CSOs, community leaders, and field teams.
• Collect, verify, and consolidate monitoring data, beneficiary feedback, and lessons learned.
• Conduct field monitoring visits and prepare mission notes.
• Prepare inputs for donor reports, briefing notes, concept notes, presentations, success stories, and technical documents.
• Participate in coordination meetings, technical working groups, government consultations, and partner meetings.

🎓 Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following:

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related field plus 2 years of relevant professional experience.

OR

Option 2: Master's degree in one of the above-mentioned or related fields.
