Job SummaryCrown Packaging and Plastics PLC is looking for a Mechanical Support Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshoot machinery and equipment, assist with maintenance and repairs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of production systems.

Crown Packaging and Plastics PLC is an Ethiopian plastics manufacturing company specializing in high-quality thermoformed plastic packaging. Established in 2011 with the support of Dutch investors, the company uses advanced European-fabricated machinery to produce food-grade packaging for local and export markets.
The factory and main office are located in Bishoftu (Debre-Zeit).
Job Summary
Crown Packaging and Plastics PLC is looking for a Mechanical Support Engineer to provide technical support, troubleshoot machinery and equipment, assist with maintenance and repairs, and contribute to the continuous improvement of production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose mechanical and electromechanical problems in machinery and equipment.
- Perform repairs and troubleshooting to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Assist in the design and modification of mechanical systems and components.
- Prepare and work with technical drawings, specifications, and machine parts.
- Use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve equipment problems.
- Assist with routine maintenance and inspection of machinery and equipment.
- Provide technical support to other team members and departments.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications.
- Assist in updating technical manuals and operational procedures.
- Participate in cross-functional improvement and engineering projects.
- Collaborate closely with technical and production teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
Experience:
- 0–4 years of experience in a similar role.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of mechanical drawings and industrial components.
- Knowledge of workshop tools and mechanical machine elements.
- Proficiency in MS Office and job-related software.
- Familiarity with communication applications.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems is an advantage.
- Experience with welding and lathe machine techniques is an advantage.
Other Requirements:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good English-language proficiency.
- Flexible working hours and availability for emergency calls.
- Willingness to live and work in Bishoftu.
