Midwives Nurse (BSc MIDN)-II- Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Clinical Manager in planning, organizing, and coordinating clinic activities.
• Plan individual activities and review performance.
• Support clinical, public, and environmental health services.
• Screen, examine, and counsel clients on integrated and comprehensive SRH services, including:
  • Family Planning (FP)
  • Maternal and Child Health (MCH)
  • HIV/STI services
  • Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC)
  • Other SRH services
• Diagnose, examine, and monitor clients with different SRH problems.
• Identify high-risk pregnancies, manage cases, and make appropriate referrals.
• Order laboratory tests and examinations.
• Prescribe contraceptives and other medications.
• Provide integrated and comprehensive SRH services and treatment.
• Insert and remove IUCD and Norplant and assist doctors with voluntary surgical contraception.
• Provide Comprehensive Abortion Care (CAC).
• Maintain quality SRH services.
• Provide health education, IEC, and BCC activities.
• Refer clients to session doctors when required.
• Assist in training health professionals in reproductive health and family planning.
• Register client information in registration books and client cards.
• Maintain data security and complete database backups.
• Maintain client confidentiality.
• Prepare service statistics and participate in research activities.
• Assist with requisition of medical supplies and medicines.
• Prepare lesson plans and provide lectures on family planning.
• Provide guidance and counselling to health personnel from hospitals, health centers, clinics, FGAE, and other health institutions.
• Provide practical training in family planning clinical services.
• Provide orientation on different family planning methods to non-health personnel.
• Identify appropriate teaching resources and ensure their availability for training programmes.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements

🎓 Education:
BSc in Midwifery Nursing

💼 Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

• Knowledge and awareness of government and FGAE regulations
• Ability to make logical and timely decisions
• Counselling skills
• Understanding of quality-of-care concepts and strategies
