Job Description
Save the Children is seeking a Senior Education Coordinator to coordinate education programming in its Gode Field Office.The position will be responsible for coordinating day-to-day education project implementation, providing technical support, managing budgets, supporting partners, monitoring project performance, and representing Save the Children in education coordination forums.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
Programme Planning & Implementation
- Coordinate day-to-day implementation of education project activities.
- Develop implementation plans and activity schedules.
- Ensure timely achievement of project targets and deliverables.
- Monitor project performance against indicators.
Technical Support
- Provide technical guidance to education staff and partners.
- Support teachers and facilitators through mentoring and coaching.
- Ensure education interventions meet Save the Children quality standards.
- Promote inclusive, gender-sensitive, and child-friendly education.
Coordination & Representation
- Liaise with government education authorities and partners.
- Participate in education cluster and coordination meetings.
- Represent Save the Children in education-related forums when delegated.
MEAL & Reporting
- Support data collection and verification.
- Review project performance data and recommend improvements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and donor reports.
- Document lessons learned and best practices.
Budget Management
- Monitor project expenditure against approved budgets.
- Assist with budget planning and forecasting.
- Ensure accountable and efficient use of project resources.
Safeguarding & Child Protection
- Mainstream safeguarding into education activities.
- Report safeguarding concerns according to SCI procedures.
- Ensure staff and volunteers follow safeguarding policies and the Code of Conduct.
Capacity Building
- Deliver training to teachers, education officers, and community volunteers.
- Strengthen the capacity of local partners and government stakeholders.
🎓 Qualifications & Experience
- BA/BSc degree in Education, Social Work, Project Management, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Master's degree in a relevant area of social development is preferred.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience managing humanitarian and/or recovery programs.
- Experience managing large, multi-sector or multi-location teams.
- Experience managing programmes across multiple locations.
- Strong budgeting skills and knowledge of donor regulations.
- Experience working with partners and senior-level stakeholders.
- Strong programme management and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience improving programme quality, efficiency, and impact.
