Security Guard (Leave Cover) – CIFA Ethiopia

The Security Guard will maintain a continuous security presence, monitor access to the compound, conduct day and night patrols, respond to security incidents, and ensure compliance with organizational security procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Protect CIFA's office premises, staff, visitors, vehicles, and property.
• Maintain security coverage through shift-based duty with other guards.
• Conduct routine security checks and assessments.
• Monitor incoming and outgoing staff, visitors, and vehicles.
• Conduct day and night foot patrols of office and residential premises.
• Investigate and report minor security incidents such as theft, unauthorized entry, or assault.
• Maintain records of CIFA assets and personnel requiring protection.
• Open and close compound gates for authorized staff and project vehicles.
• Assist with loading and unloading project materials.
• Maintain an orderly, safe, and clean compound environment.
• Report security irregularities immediately to management/supervisor.
• Receive visitors and check identification when required.
• Inform relevant staff before allowing visitors into the office.
• Remain on duty and properly hand over keys and security resources before leaving the post.
• Safeguard vehicle keys and release them only to authorized personnel.
• Assist other staff with duties assigned by the supervisor.
• Perform other security-related tasks required for project implementation.

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

• Completion of Grade 10 or above.
• Formal training in security, safety, or related fields is an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of proven experience as a security guard.
• Experience with NGOs, international organizations, or reputable companies is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of security procedures and access control.
• Understanding of emergency response procedures.
• Ability to conduct routine patrols.
• Ability to monitor office entry and exit.
• Responsible management of office and vehicle keys.
• Basic incident reporting and recordkeeping.

Compensation & Benefits

💶 Gross Salary: €131.02 per month (Grade 1 – Step 1), according to CIFA's salary scale.

The salary includes the monthly transport allowance.

Additional benefits include:

• Employer pension contribution of 11%, as required by Ethiopian labour law.
