Specialist – OSP Deployment – Safaricom Ethiopia

Job Summary

The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate OSP fiber deployment activities, working with construction teams, managing permitting and right-of-way requirements, and ensuring multiple projects are delivered effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or a related field.
• Fiber Optics certification.
• At least 3 years of experience in the fiber construction industry.
• Experience in structured cabling.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in testing, splicing, and termination.

Key Responsibilities

• Support deployment of OSP fiber projects.
• Coordinate fiber construction and structured cabling activities.
• Manage Right-of-Way (ROW) and permitting processes for new OSP fiber projects.
• Supervise project activities and field teams as required.
• Coordinate testing, splicing, and fiber termination activities.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to resolve deployment issues.
• Support project activities according to varying project schedules.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of OSP fiber deployment.
• Knowledge of ROW and permitting processes.
• Fiber construction and structured cabling expertise.
• Testing, splicing, and termination experience.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong project coordination and multitasking skills.
• Willingness to work variable hours, including weekend shifts when required.
