Job Description

Position Summary

The Storekeeper will support field-level logistics activities and assist the Logistics Officer and Field Office with the day-to-day management of the store or warehouse.

The position is responsible for the accurate receipt, storage, and issuance of goods and supplies, maintaining inventory records, verifying deliveries, organizing stock, and ensuring storekeeping procedures comply with organizational policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily warehousing activities and keep the store clean and organized.
  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming goods against delivery documents.
  • Ensure proper, safe, and accessible storage of items.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, stock cards, and databases.
  • Issue goods based on approved requisitions and maintain proper documentation.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and report discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels and report low-stock or expired items.
  • Ensure store security and prevent loss, damage, or theft.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and program teams.
  • Report damaged or discrepant deliveries to accounting for reimbursement and record keeping.
  • Maintain documentation required for proper inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain a supplier database for goods and services.
  • Support accountability and safeguarding throughout programme activities.
  • Promote compliance with Medical Teams International safeguarding policies and Code of Conduct.

Requirements

Education

  • Diploma in:
    • Procurement & Logistics
    • Supply Chain Management
    • Business Administration
    • Public Administration
    • Or a related field
  • Professional certification is preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of procurement and logistics experience.
  • Experience with donor asset and procurement procedures is an advantage.
  • Experience working with INGOs is an advantage.

Knowledge

Knowledge of supply chain management, including:

  • Procurement

  • Fleet management
  • Asset management

Skills

  • Experience using ERP systems for inventory and logistics management.
  • Good interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills.

  • Good written and spoken English and Amharic.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
