Job Description

The Supply Chain Officer organizes and supervises daily supply chain activities at the project level for the MEET Project, ensuring compliance with MSF protocols and standards. This role oversees procurement, inventory, and logistics operations, supervises the supply team, and maintains high-quality, timely, and cost-efficient supply chain processes

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the supply team, including purchaser and storekeeper roles.
  • Manage order, purchase, stock, and freight activities at the project level.
  • Ensure accurate supply documentation, database management (UniField), and filing systems.
  • Communicate with requesters on order status and prioritize procurement and transport.
  • Collect claims from the field, analyze causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support staff recruitment, training, evaluation, and development processes in coordination with HR.
  • Report major issues and maintain accurate supply chain information for decision-making.

Project-Specific Accountabilities:

  • Conduct physical inventory checks and cycle counts to ensure stock accuracy.
  • Handle urgent purchases and manage reception and storage of supplies.
  • Coordinate preparation, transport, and delivery of medical and other supplies to intervention areas.
  • Support local market assessments, procurement, and quality control of received goods.
  • Maintain cold-chain compliance and monitor temperature logs.
  • Collaborate with logistics, finance, and medical departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Ensure all procurement files are audit-ready and compliant with MSF standards.
  • Contribute to supply planning, cost estimations, and forecasting needs.

Job Requirements

Education:

BA Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ professional experience in supply chain supervision/management.
  • Proven experience in supply administration and emergency contexts.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluent in English; knowledge of additional local languages is a plus.
  • Results-oriented, quality-focused, and able to work under pressure.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to deliver on deadlines.
  • Teamwork, behavioral flexibility, and commitment to MSF principles.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and inclusive work practices.
