Technical Research Assistant – Tourism & Hospitality Research Organization: Gudina Tumsa Foundation (GTF)

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research on Ethiopia's tourism and hospitality sector.
• Identify current opportunities, challenges, and workforce needs.
• Assess skills and training gaps within the hospitality industry.
• Review existing tourism and hospitality training institutions and curricula.
• Conduct consultations with hotels, restaurants, training institutions, students, government stakeholders, and other relevant actors.
• Identify potential industry and institutional partnerships.
• Analyze research findings and develop practical, evidence-based recommendations.
• Prepare a concise final research report.
• Prepare a presentation summarizing key findings.

Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Education:
Master's Degree preferred, or Bachelor's Degree in:

• Tourism
• Hospitality
• Business
• Economics
• Education
• Research
• Related fields

💼 Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant research or professional experience.
• Experience conducting interviews, surveys, or stakeholder consultations.
• Tourism and hospitality experience is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Ethiopia's tourism and hospitality sector is an advantage.

Required Skills

• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Strong research and analytical skills.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.
• Ability to conduct stakeholder consultations and interviews.
• Ability to analyze information and develop practical recommendations.
