Job Description
World Vision Ethiopia is recruiting a TSFP Officer to strengthen Targeted Supplementary Feeding Program (TSFP) services at woreda and primary health care levels. The post supports systematic nutrition screening, active case-finding, timely referral and admission of acute malnutrition cases, and close integration of TSFP with IYCF-E and CMAM services.
Key responsibilities
- Support planning and implementation of TSFP activities, ensuring alignment with project plans and donor requirements.
- Strengthen nutrition screening (community & facility), active case detection and functional referral pathways between community and health facilities.
- Provide technical support for TSFP site preparation, food distribution (including IDP sites), and community mobilization.
- Support procurement and gap-filling of TSFP supplies, job aids and anthropometric equipment (MUAC tapes, tally sheets, reporting formats, etc.).
- Conduct regular supportive supervision and technical mentoring at TSFP sites (weekly monitoring expected).
- Ensure linkage of OTP discharges, MAM children and acutely malnourished PLW to protection/TSFP rations where applicable.
- Support integration of TSFP with IYCF-E, psychosocial support and counseling for caregivers at CMAM/TFP sites.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and supply/stock control documentation.
- Contribute to training and capacity building of health staff and community volunteers (Family MUAC, screening, referral).
Qualifications & experience
- Education: BSc in Public Health, Clinical Nursing, Nutrition or related health field (preferred).
- Training (desirable / preferred): Acute malnutrition (2019 revised guideline) training; IMAM 2019; IYCF-E; Family MUAC; TSFP/MAM; IPLS (integrated pharmaceutical logistics).
- Experience: 3–5 years working in nutrition/health programs (TSFP, CMAM, IYCF) with hands-on experience in facility and community nutrition interventions.
- Languages: Amharic, Afan Oromo and English required.
- Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, monitoring and reporting skills; ability to conduct supportive supervision and training.
